Kate, mother of two is a board-certified music therapist who holds a Bachelor of Arts from College of Idaho and attained her music therapy credentials at California State University Northridge. She completed her clinical internship at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital and now supports clients through her private practice in Los Angeles.
She discovered her love and passion for supporting families after the birth of her first son. Kate has since focused her study and practice in pre- and post-natal music therapy that encompasses the care of women during pregnancy and labor and delivery by use of music therapy assisted child birth (MTACB), as well as pre- and post-natal bonding for families. She completed her birth doula training in order to offer full services to those families with whom she provides support. Kate champions individualized care and informed choices to her clients and has supported teens, those with autism, and trans-identifying families as they become parents, many for the first time.
As an advocate in the field of music therapy, Kate fully believes in utilizing music therapy as a bridge to connect individuals with another modality of care, especially during the joyous time of welcoming a little one earthside.
Kate’s upcoming trainings in 2019 include travel to Germany to study the use of music therapy for psychosomatic diagnoses at SRH Hochschule Heidelberg as well as beginning a fellowship in Sound Birthing with Dr. Mary DiCamillo to deepen her expertise in this amazing field.
